Determining the Cost of Your High-End Kitchen Remodel

Posted on October 28, 2011 by jlamberski

In our last post, we discussed what is included in a high-end kitchen renovation, now let’s talk about the cost. Here at Kitchen Distributors, we generally tell our clients that to get the highest return on investment with your upscale kitchen renovation, you should spend between 10 and 15% of your home’s value.

According to the Remodeling 2010–11 Cost vs. Value Report (www.costvsvalue.com), the average cost for a major upscale kitchen renovation in Denver is $110,773. Whether you decide to spend more or less than this should depend on how long you intend to stay in your home as well as your current financial situation. The average upscale kitchen renovation in Denver earned a resale value of $72,957 with 65.9% of the original cost recouped. To help you organize these numbers to come up with the budget that is right for you, use resources like the Budgets 101 worksheet offered by the National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI).
