Kd. Designer Troy Williams Turns Cramped into Contemporary
Posted on August 15, 2011 by jlamberski
You don’t need an enormously expansive kitchen to achieve a space that feels unrestrained and asserts an ultramodern design. KD designer Troy Williams recently had a client who was unhappy with their small outdated kitchen and wanted a space that felt larger and maintained a more contemporary style. Take a look at how the kitchen looked before Troy Williams stepped in to help.
Troy opened up the space by first removing the dropped ceiling and the wall next to the refrigerator. The space was then maximized even further with the switch to frameless cabinets with transitional style doors from Greenfield. To contrast the warm alder cabinetry, Troy used Honed Absolute Black granite and Lagos Blue Caesarstone for the countertops. The patterned glass tile mosaic as the backsplash, the decorative pendants over the island and the flush light fixture above the sink were added to tie all of the colors and finishes together for a cohesive look. The new kitchen design looks and feels inviting and alluring while matching the rest of the home’s eclectic décor.
