The Kd. Littleton Showroom Has a New Look!

Posted on October 21, 2011 by jlamberski

The Kd. showroom just got a facelift, and we love the new look. We have finally completed the exterior remodel of the Kd. showroom at 1309 W. Littleton Blvd. In 1980 when Kd. outgrew their South Broadway showroom, we moved into the larger Littleton Boulevard space after renovating its interior to fit our growing needs as a leading Colorado kitchen designer.

When it finally came time to renew the exterior of the showroom, Kd. owner Tom Hartman wanted to glorify the white glazed brick and classic mid-century design of the original framework while adding modern appeal. The challenge with the remodel was addressing the issue of the South and East facing glass facade that created sun control and shade problems. A fan of their work on the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, Tom Hartman hired Rusty Brown and Marc Applebaum of Semple Brown Architects for the job. After a year of designing and building, Kd. is thrilled to reveal their new modern architectural look complete with a shading canopy structure, new glass system and a contemporary courtyard.

We are planning a grand re-opening ceremony in conjunction with the South Metro Chamber of Commerce on November 1st. Details are soon to come, but just so you know…there’s going to be a fabulous door prize! Until then, come visit us to see our new storefront and browse our beautiful kitchen design displays.
