Small Kitchen Design Solutions
Posted on October 5, 2011 by jlamberski
A cavernous space for a kitchen isn’t exactly built in to every floorplan (unfortunately). But even if you are working with a small kitchen, this doesn’t mean it has to feel small. With some strategic planning and a little innovation, a small kitchen can be designed to feel and function like a large one. Consider some of these space-saving, small kitchen solutions we compiled from popular design websites.
For seating . . .
Choose chairs with no arms for your kitchen island.
Match the color of the seating to the wall color.
For lighting . . .
Install undercabinet lighting to create the illusion of more space.
Consider a mirror backsplash that will reflect natural light.
For storage . . .
Add open shelving where you can display spices and plates.
Hang your copper pots from a ceiling-mounted rack.
Kd. designers always welcome the challenge of transforming a cramped space into a more open, functional and beautiful kitchen. Contact us at 303.795.0665 or visit our showroom at 1309 West Littleton Boulevard in Littleton, Colorado.
