Sub Zero and Wolf Offer “Smart” Appliances

One of the latest trends in kitchen design and technology is “smart” appliances. That is, kitchen appliances that can be controlled with mobile devices and remote-controlled home automation systems for the ultimate in wireless connectivity and convenience. Until now, this technology has been difficult to implement in the market.
But at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, Sub Zero and Wolf, manufacturer of high-end refrigeration and cooking appliances, unveiled 30 products integrated with home automation technology from ZigBee for Control4 home automation systems, which CE Pro is calling “the first viable plan for smart appliances.”
The appliances allow users to control a variety of tasks such as preheating the oven and regulating refrigerator temperature and receive alerts when the refrigerator door has been left open, for example. Check out this You Tube video to find out what else the new smart appliances can do:
