Technology Trends in Kitchen Appliances
Posted on January 27, 2012 by jlamberski
A trendy appliance almost seems like an oxymoron. Kitchen appliances should last at least a decade, so this does not quite lend itself to trends. However, we can say that there is a general trend towards kitchen appliances with more advanced technology. As it was well said in a recent appliance trends article on residential design blog Gold Notes, “2012 is sure to be an exciting time as we experience a shift from the traditional appliance to a more technologically advanced product, not just at the high-end- but at the average- consumer level.” From Gold Notes, here are the top technological advancements in kitchen appliances that we can expect to see more of this year.
1. Induction cooktops: This fast, energy-efficient Gaggenau induction cooktop from Germany will be released in the U.S. this year.
2. Steam ovens: The Thermador oven below delivers health-conscious cooking through steam technology.
3. Intuitive touch screen interfaces: This Jenn-Air Pro-Style Range touch screen interface and digital memory.
4. Sleek, minimalist design: The Zephyr Arc ventilation hood below was inspired by Apple technology.
