Transitional Harmony

The goal of this project was to incorporate a contemporary design by changing the layout and aesthetics of the home. We first created more space on the main floor, allowing for a more inviting space that suited the owner’s taste for a modern yet timeless interior. We doubled the kitchen’s size by removing a wall and moving the fireplace, enhancing connectivity with the living and informal dining areas.

The use of Rutt classic cabinetry, featuring walnut doors in a flatiron grey finish with frameless construction, embodies the contemporary vision while honoring traditional elements. The Prairie door style offers a sleek look that blends well with both modern and traditional decor. Taj Mahal leathered quartzite countertops introduce elegance and a nod to tradition, while a textured raw tile backsplash and a flush-mounted induction cooktop underscore the kitchen’s contemporary vibe.
The contractor’s precise execution transformed the home into a beautifully balanced space that aligns with the clients’ contemporary tastes without clashing with the home’s traditional facade.
