Kitchen Distributors is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer / Project Manager to join our in-house team. This individual will play a key role in supporting senior designers through precise drafting, 3D renderings and project coordination. The ideal candidate brings strong AutoCAD skills, construction knowledge, and a collaborative mindset to ensure successful project execution in a fast-paced, high-end residential design environment.

Requirements:

• Proficient in AutoCAD and experienced in drafting detailed cabinetry and kitchen/bath layouts, Microsoft Office and Google Docs
• Experience using 3D graphics and rendering software such as SketchUp and Enscape
• Comfortable using Mac software and applications
• 3+ years of experience in interior design, cabinetry, architecture, or related field (preferred)
• Strong understanding of construction principles and contractor coordination
• Excellent organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Job Description:

Design Support

• Develop preliminary and final CAD layouts based on input from Senior Designer
• Produce 3D renderings to assist with client presentations and design interpretation when needed
• Attend site visits with Senior Designer for measures and client meetings to capture design revisions, as needed
• Provide finished drawings, mechanical plans, demolition plans and lighting plans per Senior Designers direction
• Prepare client job binders with all required documentation and design details

Ordering & Procurement

• Review vendor quotes and orders with Senior Designer
• Confirm product specifications, lead times, and ensure alignment with project timelines
• Review and verify cabinetry acknowledgements for accuracy and completeness prior to final approval
• Communicate and coordinate closely with the cabinetry factories to ensure order accuracy and timely delivery
• Oversee delivery logistics including arrival, storage, and delivery, check products for damage, and coordinate replacements or claims as needed

Project Management

• Coordinate contractor schedules and product deliveries with proactive communication
• Serve as a liaison between the project team, vendors, and clients to keep timelines on track
• Conduct occasional site visits to verify installation progress and design accuracy
• Communicate with clients regarding installation and service schedules when appropriate

Showroom & Administrative Support

• Provide backup coverage for greeting clients, touring the showroom, and supporting other team members as needed
• Support administrative and office tasks, including answering phones and maintaining drafting materials and office supplies
• Assist with showroom upkeep and organization
• Help maintain and update the sample library
