Nestled in Denver’s 7th Avenue Historic District, this early 1900s residence was originally crafted by one of the city’s premier architects. Over time, a previous remodel had obscured its character, prompting a full-scale renovation to restore the home’s historic integrity while reimagining it for modern living. The resulting design revives a sense of timeless craftsmanship through custom millwork, refined materials, and a thoughtful layout that enhances light, flow, and function.

At the heart of the home, the kitchen embodies this blend of heritage and modernity. Custom Rutt Classic cabinetry in rift-cut white oak brings warmth and texture, finished in Seashell Beige and paired with a contrasting black-stained island. A Crema Delicato marble countertop and Calacatta Gold backsplash introduce layered softness, while a blackened metal hood and unlacquered brass fixtures add subtle patina and depth. Highperformance appliances—including a CornuFé range, Miele ovens, and Sub-Zero refrigeration—meet the demands of a professional chef, balancing technical precision with a refined, historic aesthetic. An adjoining wet bar, framed by illuminated glass mullion cabinets and an antique mirrored backsplash, provides an elegant focal point for entertaining.

Extending from the kitchen, the mudroom mirrors the home’s material continuity with rift white oak cabinetry and a checkerboard marble floor framed in Nero Marquina stone. Designed for both practicality and poise, it serves as a graceful transition from exterior to interior while maintaining the project’s architectural rhythm.

The primary bathroom exudes quiet sophistication with Carrara marble walls and a Nero Marquina chevron-patterned floor, balanced by a Nero Marquina slab countertop. Polished nickel fixtures from Waterworks introduce a sense of tailored luxury, while walnut dovetail drawers and subtle lighting details add warmth to the monochromatic palette. The space feels both timeless and restorative—a calm retreat rooted in material honesty and craftsmanship.

By contrast, the secondary bathroom channels soft luminosity and charm. Painted in Benjamin Moore’s First Light, the custom cabinetry pairs beautifully with Calacatta Viola marble on the vanity and tub deck. Gloss white tile, brass fittings, and crystal knobs infuse the space with gentle femininity and a youthful sense of refinement. Together, these design choices create a harmonious dialogue with the rest of the home while establishing an identity all its own.

The powder room delivers a striking counterpoint—a sculptural Crema Delicato marble sink with a dramatic mitered apron front set against bronze antique mirror and geometric marble flooring. The combination of brass fixtures and warm reflectivity captures the home’s essence: historic elegance reimagined with a modern sensibility.
